Manchester United fans have been attacked at a bar in Gdansk late on Tuesday night time, Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper reported, citing native police. The assault in the Polish metropolis comes a day before Wednesday’s Europa League final towards Villarreal.
Confirming the event, United launched an announcement on Wednesday which learn, “Membership workers have been helping numerous United fans in Gdansk final night time [Tuesday] and at the moment after an incident the place a few of our supporters have been attacked outdoors a bar in the town.”

A video on social media reveals a bunch of individuals, dressed in darkish garments, chanting and working from a bar in the town, leaving tables and chairs overturned.
BBC’s Simon Stone reported that three United supporters suffered minor accidents.

In the meantime, native mayor Aleksandra Dulkiewicz condemned the assault on a bunch of between 20 and 30 fans, saying in an announcement posted on Fb that Gdansk was an open metropolis with no place for violence.
“Expensive Manchester United and Villareal fans, all friends who got here to Gdansk –- you’re all the time appreciated right here and we cordially welcome you to our metropolis,” she added.
Witnesses stated the attackers have been heard shouting the identify of native soccer membership Lechia. Police stated they have been analysing video footage and anticipated to make arrests.
